Highcliffe and Walkford Parish Council to oppose Zonal Parking scheme

The Parish Council is supporting residents in their campaign to stop new parking proposals for our seafront area roads, being drawn up by BCP Council.

This ‘Zonal Parking’ scheme is based on the introduction of 230 plus parking bays chargeable in the summer on 15 roads in and around the seafront.

Effectively these roads would be metered.

Although there are serious parking problems in this part of the village in the summer months, this scheme does not appear to be the solution.

There is great concern that this new proposal has serious implications for traffic flows, will lead to even further disruption and will leave some residents and their visitors paying to park their vehicles outside their own homes during the summer months.

The Parish Council is working with residents and the HRA in putting together a strategy to oppose this scheme.
