To celebrate Her Majesty the Queen’s upcoming Platinum Jubilee Highcliffe & Walkford Parish Council has decided to plant 7 specimen trees (1 for each decade of Her Majesty’s reign) in the grounds of Highcliffe Castle.
In suggesting this idea, a number of residents have asked to be associated with the project so the Council has agreed to invite public subscriptions which will be recognised by inscriptions on a memorial seat sited with the trees.
Parish council chairman, Cllr Bob Hutchings, said: "The Platinum Jubilee is a unique historical event and the opportunity to celebrate it in different ways is something we can all appreciate.
"It would be good to see that seat in years to come covered with the names of subscribers."
